How to calculate fuel cost per km? The true cost of a car

Most drivers think their car's cost is "the price of a tank". The real cost is per kilometre and covers fuel, insurance, maintenance, inspection and tyres.
The tank-to-tank method
1. Fill the tank, note the odometer 2. At the next fill-up, record the litres taken and the km driven 3. Litres ÷ km × 100 = consumption per 100 km; amount ÷ km = fuel cost per km
Measuring across several tanks in a row is far healthier than a single measurement.
Total cost of ownership
Fuel is often only half of the total. Add insurance, inspection, maintenance, tyres and parking as monthly amounts — and the true per-km cost emerges.
Keep it on record
Enter fuel purchases in the Parasyo+ Home+ Vehicle & Garage module; the per-km cost is computed automatically, and inspection and insurance dates are reminded before they arrive. You can use the same method for a company car — the cost-center report comes out ready.
