How to make a monthly budget? A simple system from scratch

A monthly budget means deciding at the start of the month where your money will go — so you don't wonder at the end where it went. No complex spreadsheets needed; a simple four-step system is enough.
1. Write down your net income
Add up what actually lands in your pocket (salary, side work, rental income) in one line. Use the real figure, not an estimate.
2. Separate fixed and variable expenses
List fixed items first: rent, bills, subscriptions. Split the rest into variable categories like groceries, dining out, transport and personal care. In Parasyo you can set up your own system with 12 custom categories.
3. Set category limits
Give each category a realistic monthly limit. When you define a budget in Parasyo, the app warns you as you approach the limit — you brake before the month ends.
4. Check in for 5 minutes a week
A budget is not written once and forgotten. Same day every week, glance at the report: which category is running hot, which has room? Shift limits between them if needed.
The first month won't be perfect; limits settle in the second, and savings begin on their own in the third.
